I took my first watercolour class with the late, great Roy Fijal who inspired and encouraged several generations of Winnipeg artists. Additional courses at the Winnipeg Art Gallery Studio, numerous workshops over the years and concentrated self-study have helped to shape and hone my skills and broaden my media to include acrylics and occasionally oils, but my first and lasting love and joy is painting in watercolour.
I have decided to share this page with my muse, my inspiration - my mother, who painted in oils beginning in her 50�s, who found her passion and passed it to me long before she herself passed. Lillian May Johnson. I dedicate my work to her.
I am currently represented by Wayne Arthur Gallery on Provencer and Savoir Faire on Henderson Hwy in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Member of Local Colour Art Group, which hosts two shows a year, Art Rocks Art Show and Sale, juried into the Manitoba Society of Artists show 2009, 2010 and 2011. 2010 and 2011 Winner of the Lynn Sissons Memorial Watercolor award (MSA). and a People's Choice Award in 2010. www.localcolourart.ca
